A middle-aged man, identified as Alfa Basiru, has been arrested after suspected human flesh was found in his possession during a police stop-and-search exercise in Ibadan on Wednesday, September 17.
The operation was carried out by officers of the Federal Highway Patrol under the Oyo State Police Command at the Toll Gate along the Ibadan Expressway. During the routine check, the officers intercepted a white bus with registration number XA 551 IRG, where the alarming discovery was made.
Upon interrogation, the suspect reportedly claimed he had purchased the item in Lagos.
Confirming the incident, the Oyo State Police Command stated that Basiru has been transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Iyaganku, for further investigation.
