A neighbor of Mr. Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo at No 18 ,Kalabari Close, off Queen’s Drive, Ikoyi, Mr Yekini Alabi has accused the popular singer of assaulting him.
Oyebanjo, who is popularly called D’Banj, had reportedly gotten into a heated argument with Mr Yekini Alabi over the issue of provision of fuel for the generator that serves as power supply source for the whole compound.
Mr Yekini Alabi, a septuagenarian and a statesman, was at different times a member of the Constitutional Reform Conference and the House of Representatives.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the former reps member, had reported the incident at the police station via a letter of complaint dated October 11,2025, in which he alleged criminal intimidation while also lamenting that the incident has caused him a great trauma and also affected his health.

An invitation letter was reportedly sent to the popular singer by the police which he has however allegedly ignored.
A copy of the invitation letter was made available to our reporter on Thursday night and he was expected to make himself available for interrogation at the Ikoyi Divisional Police Station on or before 14th October, 2025. It was however alleged that D’Banj did not attach importance to the invitation letter as he has failed to show up at the police station as requested.
This development has sparked criticism while it has also given birth to a series of critical comments with many people asking if any citizen is above the law.
Efforts to get D’Banj’s reaction failed on Thursday night, calls were made to his mobile number but he neither picked up nor returned our reporter’s calls.
