Suspected Fulani herdsmen collect #5m, food items, release victim in Delta Community
Suspected Fulani herdsmen have collected five million (#5m) ransom payment and food items just as they released their victim,Mr. Azubuike Bright who they kidnapped on Friday night at Iteogwe, Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Government Area, Delta State. The victim was released on Sunday night at about 9pm.

Coordinator of Safe City Project,Comrade Harrison Gwamnishu, a human right activist confirmed the victim's release in a statement sent to Our Correspondent in Warri.

According to Comrade Gwamnishu,"This evening, at approximately 9:00pm, I witnessed his release after N5,000,000 and other items were delivered to the kidnappers.

"The victim reported that his abductors were all Fulani and are still at large in the bush."

Comrade Gwamnishu drew the attention of government and the relevant security agencies to the alarming rate of kidnapping allegedly carried out suspected Fulani armed kidnappers who disguised as herdsmen.

He also said the Delta State Police Command led by CP Olufemi Abaniwonda is making efforts to address the situation and requires all the support it can get to ensure the safety of lives and properties.

He also urged the Government to empower local vigilantes who are more familiar with the terrain.

It would be recalled that Mr. Azubuike Bright was abducted on Friday night by suspected Fulani herdsmen at Iteogwe,Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State. He went to buy food(Fufu) and on his way back, he was kidnapped.

His abductors earlier demanded fifty million naira (#50m) ransom for his release.

On Friday, at Iteogwe, Ibusa, Oshimili North LGA, Delta State, Azu Bright left his residence to purchase Fufu (Akpu), and on his way back, he was kidnapped. His abductors demanded N50,000,000 as ransom for his release.

The kidnappers threatened his family, stating that if the ransom was not paid, they should prepare for his burial.
