Tinubu Returns, Dismisses Health Concerns, Says He Is Fit and Ready to Work

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has dismissed concerns over his health, declaring that he is healthy, sound and ready to resume work after returning to Nigeria from his extended working vacation in Europe.

Tinubu made the statement on Tuesday, September 29, shortly after arriving at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos from Paris, France.

Responding to questions from journalists about speculation surrounding his health during his prolonged stay abroad, the President said there was nothing wrong with him.

“Ready to kick, ready to work, there is nothing wrong,” Tinubu said, adding that rumours would always emanate from politics.

“But the fact remains I’m here, healthy, sound and ready to go,” he said.

The President had left Nigeria on August 30 for what the Presidency described as a working vacation, initially travelling to London before proceeding to Paris. His stay was later extended by several days.

The Presidency had earlier described Tinubu as “hale and hearty” and maintained that he remained engaged with official matters while abroad.

Tinubu’s return comes ahead of Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary celebrations, with the President expected to participate in official activities in Lagos before resuming further engagements.

The President’s remarks on Tuesday provide his own response to the health concerns that had circulated during his absence from the country
