The governing council of the Glorious vision university (GVU) located at Ogwa in Edo state has been inaugurated by the visitor/chancellor, national vice president of The Apostolic Church Nigeria (TACN) , LAWMNA Territorial chairman and chairman, Christian Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Pastor (Dr.)S.G.O. Uyeh JP.
The inauguration and induction ceremony held on the 31st July 2025 at the LAWMNA council Hall, Lagos, has Professor Augustine E. Anigala as the pro-chancellor/chairman.
Other members of the council include Professor Ezekiel Shegun Asemah as vice chancellor, Elder Daniel Olokor, Prof. John Lekan Oyefa, Prof. Samuel Okunsebor, Prof.Johnson Akinwumi Adejuyitan, Hon.Bauna, Elder S.O. Oladokun, Dr. Joseph Etin Iwang, Deaconess Vera O. Lesso and the Deputy vice chancellor.
While welcoming the incoming and out going governing council members with other committee members, the visitor/chancellor, Pastor Dr Uyeh gave thanks to God Almighty for his goodness and mercy during the period under review. He noted that, "we all are indebted to Almighty God for the gift of love, divine Providence and protection individually and corporately as University and Church".
He reminded the audience that, Glorious vision university----the mustard seed given by God Almighty to TACN, LAWNA Territory, (now LAWMNA Territory) through the prophetic "WORD" of our father, Pastor Nathaniel O.Awojide, during the mid-week convention service in August 2005 held at the LAWNA international convention ground has grown into a mighty "Tree".
"This special divine gift" has become a blessing to national human capital development, economic growth and evangelism helping to advance God's Kingdom on Earth".
In nostalgia, he pointed out that the pioneering role of their esteemed father of blessed memory, late Pastor (Dr) Gabriel Oladele Olutola, being the first visitor/chancellor of Samuel Adegboyega University, now Glorious vision university cannot be forgotten for his uniqueness and leadership prowess.
He stressed that, the out going governing council and B.O.T. members have injected significant contributions to academic excellence by introducing marketable courses; securing the certificate for change of name from Samuel Adegboyega University (SAU) to Glorious vision university (GVU) and accreditation of GVU programmes by the National University Commission (NUC) and ranking of GVU, by AD scientific index which ranked GVU number nine (9) out of 120 private universities in Nigeria and (34) out of 500 private universities in Africa is Worthy of celebration.
"It will interest you to know that the current vice chancellor of the university, professor Ezekiel Shegun Asemah, as the best scientist in mass communication in Nigeria universities and highly ranked in Africa and the world by AD scientific".
While appreciating and thanking the out going B.O.T. and governing council members, he assured the incoming BOT and governing council members that, the LAWMNA executive council is confident that they would uphold the highest standards of corporate governance and bring such excellence and influence that, as the saying goes " You could sell ice to Eskimos" even in the artic.
