Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has given his own account of the altercation with media personality Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi, also called Mr Jollof, on a commercial flight.
In a video shared shortly after landing, VDM said the clash was the result of weeks of online exchanges between him and Mr Jollof, which had already created tension before they met physically on the aircraft.
VDM explained that when he saw Mr Jollof on board, he confronted him and said, “Today you will slap me,” a reference to their earlier disagreements that had played out publicly on social media.
In a post on his Instagram page, he alleged that Mr Jollof bit him during the fight, writing that the media personality “bite me, your fellow man,” and claiming he could have been badly injured if he had not defended himself.
He said the scuffle began after Mr Jollof threw the first punch, which led him to retaliate. According to him, the situation escalated quickly when Mr Jollof allegedly bit his arm, a moment he joked almost damaged his tattoo.
Passengers who witnessed the incident stepped in to separate both men as the confrontation intensified inside the cabin.
