Nollywood actor Elesho has opened up about a sensitive domestic situation that tested the dynamics of his household, revealing how he navigated the delicate task of moving his ailing mother into his home without prior notice to his wife.
The actor recounted that his mother had been living with a younger sibling while battling a long-standing eye condition, during which period he had continued to provide financial support and meet his obligations as a son. The situation, however, reached a breaking point on the day he went to bring her, when his mother expressed profound distress over her living conditions, allegedly declaring that she would rather be thrown into a river or the sea than remain where she was.
Moved by her desperation, Elesho brought her to Lagos as an emergency arrangement. But rather than walk her straight into the house, he left her waiting in the car while he went upstairs to prepare his wife for the news.
In a gesture that has since drawn wide attention, he said he prostrated before his wife before informing her that he had brought a visitor home — a visitor his wife soon discovered was his mother.
His wife questioned the unannounced development, prompting him to explain the urgency of the situation and his mother's firm insistence that she could no longer remain in her previous accommodation. He told his wife there was simply no other option available at that moment.
Reflecting on the episode, Elesho stressed that the experience underscored his deep respect for his wife's place in their home.
