Warri IDU Elects New Officers, Calls for Unity, Oneness among members

The Isoko Development Union, (IDU) Warri branch has elected new officers to pilot the affairs of the branch for the next 3 years.
The election conducted on the 14th December, 2025, has been described as the freest and fairest in the history of the branch as both winners and losers embraced themselves after the election.


Those elected to pilot the affairs of the branch for the next 3 years include: Comrade(Amb.) Wilfred Ololo Mukoro as President, Mr Famous Oviomo as Vice President, Dcn. Okposo Matthew as Secretary, Onowita Henry as Assistant Secretary.
Others are: Edafirobor Lucky asTreasurer, Mr. David Oniomor as Financial Secretary, Mr Oruaro Cousin as Assistant Financial Secretary, Mr. Ichene Solomon as Spokesman, Mr. Daniel Ovuorezi as Public Relations Officer, Mr Ofiemo Samson asProvost I and Mr Okpaje Toff as Provost Il.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected president of the branch, Comrade Wilfred Ololo Mukoro thanked members for finding him worthy to pilot the affairs of the body for the next 3 years.
According to him, he would abide by the constitution of the body to move the Union to the next level.
Comrade Mukoro promised to co-operate with the national body of the Union,and all sons and daughters of Isoko nation for the betterment of the people. He therefore called his executive members and the losers of the election to bring forth their ideas to contribute to the progress of the branch to achieving the aims and objectives of the Union.
His words:" In an election, either you win or lose. I call on those who contested with me to join hands with me to move the branch to an enviable heights ".
The newly sworn in President also appealed for sons and daughters of the Isoko nation to help support with funds to complete the Secretariat among others.

While speaking to newsmen, the immediate past President of the body Pastor (Dr.) Oghale Owhorakpo Moses expressed gratitude for the emergence of President Mukoro, describing him as humble and diligent in performing his duty when he was Secretary under him, he was of great assistance and now that he has become the President, he is much aware that he would work harder to move the Union to the next level.

Pastor Dr Oghale Owhorakpo Moses, further noted that, leadership of the Union was not easy for the past three years but with the grace of God, he was able to achieve lots of things among which are the celebration of Isoko Day, the publication of Isoko Calendar, among others.
He noted that Isoko nation must be placed in world map, while charging the new executive members to be up and doing to move the Union forward adding that, they should rule with the fear God.


His words:" Isoko is a nation, we must put Isoko in the world map. We must also have the fear of God because, all these things (positions) would passed away but the word of God would remain. I advised that we should put God first in anything we do, with that, we can achieve our purpose in life".
The highlights of the occasion was the presentation of awards to deserving officers who have exceedingly done well various areas during their stewardship.
