‎Why Anthony Joshua Survived The Crash That Killed His Friends – Pastor Adeboye.

‎The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has attributed Anthony Joshua’s survival in a fatal road accident to divine mercy.

‎Pastor Adeboye made the remark on Sunday during the church’s monthly thanksgiving service, where he referenced the former world heavyweight boxing champion while preaching on God’s mercy and preservation.

‎Joshua was involved in a deadly car crash in Nigeria that claimed the lives of two of his close friends and team members. The accident occurred last Monday along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway and resulted in the deaths of Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele. The boxer, however, sustained only minor injuries.

‎The 36-year-old was discharged from hospital on New Year’s Eve and returned to the United Kingdom on Saturday.

‎While speaking, Adeboye cited a passage from the Bible to emphasise his point, saying: “Lamentations 3:22–23 says it is by the mercies of the Lord that we are not consumed. We are alive because of the mercies of the Lord, not because of cleverness.”

‎He further referred to reports surrounding the accident, noting that Joshua had reportedly changed seats with another person shortly before the crash.

‎“I read in the newspapers yesterday that our boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, exchanged seats with someone before the accident,” Adeboye said.

‎“The people he exchanged seats with died. I don’t know why, but the mercy of God said someone would still be alive today.
