A shocking domestic tragedy has been reported from Nsawam Aduakrom in the Eastern Region, where a land agent, Nicholas Cheetham, is alleged to have been killed in a violent incident involving his wife and family members.
According to reports, Nicholas Cheetham was allegedly murdered by his wife, Abigail, after tensions arose over claims that he had impregnated another woman. Sources indicate that although Nicholas reportedly sought forgiveness and even compensated his wife with a plot of land and an undisclosed sum of money after the alleged infidelity was discovered, the situation is said to have escalated further.
The report further alleges that Abigail later conspired with one of her sons, Prince—whom she had brought into the marriage—to carry out the attack. A friend of Prince is also said to have been involved but is currently on the run.
In a disturbing turn of events, Nicholas’s 15-year-old son from a previous relationship, Richmond, is also alleged to have been targeted during the incident. It is claimed that he witnessed parts of the attack after hearing suspicious noises and saw his father’s body being moved. He reportedly attempted to flee for help but was attacked and sustained severe injuries. He later informed neighbours before reportedly passing away from the injuries sustained.
The case has reportedly drawn the attention of the security services, with investigations underway to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the incident and to apprehend all individuals involved.
The alleged crime has sparked widespread shock and debate, particularly around the tragic breakdown of trust within the family and the extreme outcomes of domestic conflict.
The case is being handled by the Ghana Police Service, who are expected to provide further updates as investigations continue.
Authorities are also pursuing the suspect who is currently at large as part of efforts to bring all those responsible to justice.
